How to deal withhardships in the light of Islam: - 

Islam is a beautifulreligion that not only teaches us about worship but also sheds light on everyaspect of life, including how to deal with hardships. Allah tells believers notto fall into despair when faced with problems in the Holy Quran. At manypoints, He comforts the believers and asks them to seek help from prayers and patience. Those who endure hardships in this world with patience and gratitude will earn paradise in the Hereafter. The key lies in the remembrance of Allah and seeking his help through prayer during hardships. 

Different types ofhardships and dua to overcome difficulties: - 

1. Hardship in job and financial matters: - 

Job difficulties andfinancial turmoil can make a person suffer gravely. Especially when you have anumber of dependents it gets even more difficult. Allah is the sole Providerand Giver. Hence we must turn to Him instead of people when faced with financialdifficulties. Here is a useful dua for hardship in the job. 

inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’oon, allahummaj’alni farajan wamakhrajan war zuqni khaira min haithu ahtasibu wa min haithu la ahtasib , bihaqqi Muhammadin wa ali muhammadin 

“We are from Allah & will return to Him. Oh Allah, let myaffairs be free from care & make them profitable & give me means oflivelihood from my share & from where I have no expectation. For the sakeof Muhammad and the Progeny of Muhammad” 

2. Difficultyin marriage: - 

Nowadays, getting asuitable proposal for marriage is very difficult. Post-marriage problems arealso very common that take a toll on one’s life. It is only Allah who can breakthe seal of hearts. Allah has the Supreme Authority over every being on Earth. Recitethe following dua to overcome difficulties in marital affairs. 

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘as’aluka khayrahaa wa khayra majabaltahaa‘alayhi wa ‘a’oothu bika min sharrihaa wa sharri maajabaltahaa ‘alayhi 

”O Allah, I ask You for the goodness of her and the goodnessupon which You have created her, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of herand from the evil upon which You have created her” 

3. Stress and anxiety: - 

When faced with anydifficult situation such as loss, natural calamity or any other testing time remembranceof Allah is your only way out. The testing times are from Allah so that thebeliever turns to Him and pleads to Him. Therefore, one must not lose hope andpray to Allah for good times. 

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inneekuntu mina aththalimeen 

 “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, Ihave been of the wrongdoers.” 

4. Illnessand physical pain: - 

Sometimes we areinflicted with physical pain and illness that does not get better even aftermedical treatment and we often think how to deal with hardships. Along with medical treatment, it is very importantto invoke Allah in such difficult times. Allah is the Curer for all diseases.Surah Rehman has been very effective in curing many serious ailments. It hasbeen a very effective therapy to treat covid-19 patients as well. Here is a powerful dua to deal with all types of hardships pertaining to health. 

Allahumma Rabban-Naas, azhibil-ba’s, washfi antash-Shaafi laashifaa’a illaa shifaa’uka, shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqamaa 

“O Allah, Lord of mankind, do away with my suffering. Heal (me)as You are the only Healer and there is no cure except that of Yours, it isthat which leaves no ailment behind” 

5. Depression:- 

When the devil occupiesa place in a believer’s heart, he instills negative thoughts and depression.The devil cannot tolerate a believer’s contentment. He would play all sorts oftricks to make a Muslim go astray in quest of satisfaction. However, onlyproximity to Allah will bring eternal peace. There are many duas to overcome depression. Here is one of them. 

Allahumma inni a’uzu bika min jahdil-bala’, wa darki shaqa’, wasu’il-qadha’, wa shamatatil-a’da’ 

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from severe calamity, frommisery to fall upon me, from misfortune in the decree, and from the joys of theenemies." 

Hence, every Muslim mustremember Allah when faced with different types of hardships as only He has thepower to make things right.
